★Lesson 94：　Girl’s Day　（ひな祭り） 

３月３日はひなまつり☆英語だと、どう説明できるかな？

子： What’s ‘Hina Matsuri’ for?　ひな祭りは何の為？
親： It’s also called ‘the Girl’s Day’.　女の子の日よ
  It’s the day to pray for good health and happiness for girls.
  女の子の健康と幸せを祈る日よ

　
子： What do we do on ‘Hina Matsuri’?　何をする日なの？
親： We display the Hina dolls.　ひな人形を飾るの
  We eat Chirashi-zushi and clam soup. ちらし寿司と蛤のお吸い物を食べるのよ
  Also, we drink Amazake.　甘酒も飲むの
子： Amazake?　甘酒？
  I can’t drink alcohol.　お酒は飲めないよ
  I’m too young.　まだ小さいもん
親： Don’t worry. 大丈夫
  Amazake is not an alcoholic drink.　甘酒はお酒じゃないよ
  So you can have some.　だから飲んでも大丈夫
  It’s sweet and tasty.　甘くておいしいよ
子： So I won’t get drunk.　酔っぱらわないんだね
親： No, you won’t.　酔っぱらわないよ
  And we have to put the dolls away just after ‘Hina Matsuri’.
  ひな祭りの後すぐにひな人形を片付けないといけないんだよ
子： Why?　どうして？
親： Otherwise you’ll live past the marriageable age.
  そうしないとお嫁にいきそびれるの
子： What!?　えっ！？
親： This is what ancient people said.　昔の人はそう言ったの
  Anyway, it’s better for the dolls to be put away soon.
  とはいえ、ひな人形の為にはすぐに片付けるのがいいの
子： I see.　わかった
