★Lesson 44：　Letters　（手紙） 

郵便屋さんのバイクの音って好きです♪「きたかな？」なんてワクワクします。
今日は届いたお手紙を子供と一緒に数えてみませんか？

子： Mom, there’s the postman!　ママ、郵便屋さんがいるよ！
  ※～がある（いる）は、There is ～/There are ～sを使います
親： He must have brought some letters.　きっとお手紙届けてくれたのね
  Can you bring them/the letters, please?　手紙を持ってきてくれる？
子： Yes, mom.　はいママ
  Where are they?　どこにあるの？
親： They’re in the mailbox.　郵便受けの中よ
子： Look, mom!　ママ見て！
  There are plenty of/many letters.　たくさん手紙があるよ
親： Yes, there are.　本当だね
  Shall we count them/the letters?　手紙を数えようか？
子： Yes, let’s count them/the letters!　うん、一緒に手紙を数えよう！

英語で数えるときは三桁で括ると考えやすいですよ。
　ex） 29,800 = twenty-nine thousand eight hundred = 29千 （＆） 800
 
※”-teen”（十のくらい）と、”-ty”（何十）という時の発音にご注意！
　13 = thirteen 30 = thirty
　15 = fifteen 50 = fifty
