★Lesson 120：　Rice Cake Throwing　（餅捲き）

最近あまり見かけませんね【餅まき】

子： Look!　見て！
  There’s a man on a roof!　屋根の上に人がいる！
  He’s going to fall off the roof.　落ちちゃうよ
  Dad, go and get him, please.　パパ、助けに行って
親： Don’t worry.　大丈夫だよ
  He’s not going to fall off.　落ちたりしないから
  He’s standing on the framework on purpose.　わざと梁に立ってるんだよ
  He’s a carpenter.　大工さんだ
　

　
子： Is he a real carpenter?　本当の大工さん？
  He doesn’t have a hammer.　金槌もってないよ
  And he’s yelling something.　何か叫んでるし
親： He’s doing a ceremony.　儀式をしているんだ
  He’s going to throw rice cakes to pray for good fortune on the new house.
  新築の家の幸運を祈ってお餅を撒くんだよ
  Do you want to go and get some rice cakes?　お餅取りに行きたいかい？
子： Can I?　いいの？
  I don’t know him,　あの人の事知らないよ
親： It doesn’t matter.　かまわないんだよ
  Anyone can join the ceremony.　誰でも参加できるんだ
  If you’re lucky, you’ll get some coins and some snacks.　
  ツイていたらお金やお菓子も貰えるよ
子： So let’s go!　じゃぁ行こう！
